The cosmology resource page

The universe, it's fate and origin, all the complexities and possibilities in-between has been a great source of inspiration for everyone, not just physicists/cosmologists and philosophers. I was fortunate enough to get the chance to write a dissertation about the scientific work done towards determining the dynamic (or non-dynamic) nature of the universe. (i.e. whether or not it was expanding and if it will collapse on itself or not).

I would just say that the importance of this subject area should not be underestimated. It is a refreshing topic to think about. Personally, in researching for the piece I wrote, I found I was inspired. After three years of university physics, even the more enthusiastic students like myself can begin to feel stale. For me, getting an understanding of the subject (again) was a breath of fresh air. The issues raised in what should be termed as cosmology, may not be relevant to everyday life, but I believe they will become more important in the future. Take General Relativity for example. This was the founding step of cosmology, and that gave us a greater understanding of the world we live in today. (Trust me, it really did !)

New Scientist

I came across some articles from the New Scientist web site. I apologies to New Scientist for the lack of credits. I take no credit for these and I respect all copyright accredited to them! "The day time began", "Can gravity take a quantum leap?", "Einstein's elusive ripples".

Horizon

Here is a link to a feature of a BBC Horizon program, entitled "From Here to eternity". You can get to it from HERE. Although you read the introduction and transcript here!
